Do you have a complaint about any type of NHS treatment?


Are you unhappy with a service provided by the NHS?


From June 2011 Community Advice Services are pleased to be working in partnership with ICAS - The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service


For more than seven years ICAS has been supporting people who wish to complain about their National Health Service (NHS) treatment or care.


During this time, this free, confidential and independent service has helped over 30,000 people navigate their way around the NHS complaints procedure.


In supporting complainants it has helped individuals understand their rights, make informed choices and given them a voice.

Anyone is entitles to contact ICAS for help in making a complaint about NHS funded treatment or care.
This service also supports people who wish to make a complaint on behalf of someone else.

On the first Thursday of every month ICAS will be offering drop in sessions at CAS Head Office in Kent Street.

Achievements and Performance for 2010 and 2011 PDF Print E-mail

 

Numbers of individuals and families receiving furniture

 

During 2010 with the continued support of the community of North East Lincolnshire with their generous donations, we were able to provide furniture to over 1,700 households, this was made up of the following: -

  • We provided essential and discounted furniture to 436 households in receipt of benefits, supporting individuals and families in crisis situations.
  • Affordable quality furniture provided to 1,280 households.

 

 

 

Volunteers and placements

 

2010 saw East Marsh Community Trust supported by 37 volunteers recording over 8,000 volunteer hours and 22 placements recording over 2,800 placement hours. Our placements and volunteers are engaged in a wide range of tasks including warehousing, driving, delivery, customer service, reception, administration, fundraising, furniture repair, and electrical testing.

 

During the year numerous placements and volunteers have been successful in finding employment as a direct consequence of gaining skills, qualifications and confidence from working for the charity.

 

 

External Operations

 

2010 saw East Marsh Community Trust expand their external operations by offering Portable Appliance Testing to local organisations testing over 464 electrical items.

 

East Marsh Community Trust provides a House Clearance service to support the local community resulting in over 20 houses being emptied in 2010 within North East Lincolnshire.

 

 

Environmental Impact


Environmentally in 2010, the activities of the charity collected almost 127 tonnes of furniture this not only reduces the amount of material that could potentially enter landfill but also reduces the consumption of virgin materials that go into the manufacture of new furniture and housewares.
